ITINERARY FOR THE CAPE TOWN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOLS U.18 HOCKEY FESTIVAL - JULY 2007

FESTIVAL ONLY

Tuesday 17th July

Arrive Cape Town International Airport. On arrival you will be met and transferred to the Holiday Inn, Garden Court, Eastern Boulevard (or hotel of similar standard) – your 3 star hotel in Cape Town. The hotel is situated within a 5 minute drive to the Hartley Vale Hockey Stadium.

Practice facilities will be available during the afternoon before the official opening of the 2007 Cape Town International Schools Hockey Festival at 17.00

Wednesday 18th July

Festival commences with day 1 of 1st round group matches.

Transfers provided to and from hotel for all hockey matches.

Thursday 19th July

Day 2 of 1st round group matches

 

Friday 20th July

Day 3 of 1st round group matches

 

Saturday 21st July

Festival rest day.

All schools, after breakfast, will depart for a full day excursion to Cape Point, at the tip of the Cape Peninsula. The journey takes you along one of the most spectacular mountain drives. You will also visit the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve. This wilderness area is home to baboons, species of antelope, mammals, birds, reptiles and indigenous fauna and flora. (Lunch at Two Oceans Restaurant - optional extra)

  

Sunday 22nd July

Festival recommences with Day 1 of 2nd round group matches.

 

Monday 23rd July

Day 2 of 2nd round group matches.

 

Tuesday 24th July

Day 3 of 2nd round group matches.

 

Wednesday 25th July

After breakfast schools will depart on a full day excursion to Stellenbosch, and Paarl in the heart of the famous wine region. Also included will be a visit to the KWV distillery at Paarl.

 

Thursday 26th July

Finals Day followed by Festival prize ceremony at the River Club Observatory. The evening will include a disco and a buffet meal.

 

Friday 27th July

Morning at leisure to do some last minute sight seeing and shopping before your transfer to Cape Town International Airport and your onward flight.
